Learn about our Boy Scout Troop.
Troop 7 is an established unit in Springfield, Missouri. We are part of the Pathfinder District, which is part of the Ozark Trails Council.
Troop 7’s chartered organization is Schweitzer United Methodist Church. Schweitzer and it’s leadership continue to be very supportive of our program. The troop as part of Schweitzer uses BSA programming to compliment the Church’s mission statement of “transforming lives by making disciples of Jesus Christ”. The Troop camps each month of the year. These camping experiences generally include events like backpacking, canoeing, shooting sports, wilderness survival, or water sports.
Troop 7 is a boy led troop which utilizes the patrol method. This means that our youth are actually the ones that plan and operate the troop. The troop is complimented with plenty of well trained youth and adult leadership. Adults are present to mentor the youth leaders and oversee safety.
Troop meetings are normally held on Mondays at the Hoffman Hall Annex at Schweitzer United Methodist Church from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. Hoffman Hall Annex is the standalone brick building North and East of the church’s gymnasium which is inside entrance C. Feel free to drop in on our meetings, but before you come check the Troop calendar for the exact time and location. Additional information on our Troop Meeting can be found on our Troop Meeting Information Page.
